Objective

Development

From gatherings designed to help us get to know one another, exchange perspectives and celebrate eco-creative diversity; to events where we approach waste from fresh angles, imagine ways to recover its value or discover ‘treasures’ where we once saw only rubbish; and at other times, opening the community to new participants, fostering unexpected connections and sparking conversations with those who are still taking their first steps towards sustainability.

Through experiential activities, thought-provoking materials and moments that invite shared reflection, Alegre Biribilketa aims to weave an increasingly vibrant network, where relationships are cross-pollinated, imaginations are expanded and waste becomes an opportunity to create, connect and transform.

Alegre Biribilketa is an EIDE project supported by the ‘2023 Economic Revitalisation Grants’ scheme run by the Economic Development Department of Getxo Town Council, the Basque Government’s Agenda 2030 Vouchers, and with the backing of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, the main driving force behind Waste Lab Bizkaia in collaboration with EIDE and Aclima (Basque Environment Cluster).

  • Leadership and Design: The project has been coordinated by the core team comprising Jon and Iker Abad, Lander Balza, Leire García, Carlos San José and Brigitte Sauvage.
  • In addition, the festive image was developed by Freskue. The transmedia coverage was provided by Ardiluzu (graphics), David Herranz (photography), Estudio Ainara Ipiña (audiovisual: Alegre Biribilketa 2023), Nerea Azkona (text) and Curruscu (audiovisual).
